What are the marketing channels in 2020? 002

Thu 10:00am 16 Apr 2020
In the next episode of Marketing 101, I'm here to discuss what to do to market your product. I'm going to touch on Facebook and Google ads, how to make a call to action, and what channels to market along.

A common misstep for up and coming marketers is a reliance on ad platforms, including Facebook and Google. While advertising here can convert customers, they are incredibly inefficient when you compare the cost of the ad to the interest it generates. If you want to market yourself efficiently, you'll want to choose more a direct option.

So long as you provide audiences with a call to action, advertising via word of mouth, email newsletters, or video outlets can all be incredibly efficient. For me, my call to action is at the start of this episode and the end of this post, where I direct people to call me to have a discussion. You might be asking your audience to check out your website, visit your shop, or send you an email - whatever you're asking of your audience, make sure you ask it! If you have, then whether you're advertising to your Facebook friends, creating old school email newsletters, or crafting How To videos on Youtube, your advertisement is capable of generating more interest in your product at a lower cost than a Google ad could.

When it finally comes time to optimise your website for search engines, blogs and case studies work excellently. Both of these formats can have SEO applied to them extensively, placing your website at the top of the search results and generating more interest in your product. Case studies work great for testimony, showing how your product or service has helped previous customers - if you can't identify any customers, spoof the testimony. For SEO content, nothing beats blogs and case studies, in my experience.
